Men’s Golf Reveals 2020 Spring Slate

2019-20 Men's Golf Schedule

JERSEY CITY, N.J. – The Saint Peter's University men's golf program has announced a five-tournament slate for the spring portion of its 2019-20 campaign.

The Peacocks, who placed sixth or better at all but one of their five fall tournaments – including one team victory – kick off the spring in nearby Branchburg, New Jersey, when it hosts the Saint Peter's Invitational on March 23 at Fox Hollow Golf Club. The tournament will feature a practice round the day prior before a 36-hole, single-round event unfolds. The last time Saint Peter's hosted an invitational was in the spring of 2017.

That will kick off a busy month of action for the program, which will play in five different states over a roughly six-week span. In addition to the Garden State, the Peacocks will play in Connecticut, Rhode Island, Pennsylvania and round out the spring at the 2020 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championship in Florida.

After the Peacock Invitational, the team will participate in the 2020 Sacred Heart Spring Invitational held at the Great River Golf Club from April 5-6 for a 36-hole tournament.  Two years ago, the team placed second at the same event.

A week later, the program treks further northeast to the Ocean State, where it will participate in the University of Rhode Island Invitational played at the Quidnessett Country Club from April 13-14. It will mark the team's first time participating at URI's tournament since 2017, when it tied the hosts for a ninth-place team finish.

Finally, the Peacocks round out the spring at the Lafayette College-hosted 2020 Abarta Coca-Cola Collegiate Invitational from April 19-20 at Steel Club in Hellertown, Pennsylvania. Saint Peter's placed eighth at the same tournament last spring, which will serve as the final regular season event before postseason play.

The Peacocks will be aiming for their fourth league title when they head to Lake Buena Vista, Florida, for the 2020 MAAC Men's Golf Championship, which will be played at Disney's Magnolia Golf Course. The three-day event will begin April 24 and conclude on Sunday, April 26, with the top team – and individual not from that team – earning an automatic qualification to the NCAA Regional Championship.
