JERSEY CITY, N.J. - The Saint Peter's University Athletics department will be hosting a Peacock Pregame Tipoff to celebrate the start to the 2021-22 basketball season next Monday, November 1 at 12 p.m.
The Peacock Pregame Tipoff will include a live DJ, snacks, refreshments and giveaways including, koozies, coasters, seat cushions, stickers and more. The event, which is open to the public, will take place in the Quad located outside of the Yanitelli Center. Saint Peter's University students, faculty, staff, as well as all of Peacock Nation are encouraged to stop by between noon and 1 p.m. All students, faculty, staff and administrators are encouraged to wear their Saint Peter's Peacocks gear all day long as part of a University-wide Spirit Day.
Stick around for the main event later that evening: the grand opening and dedication of the newly renovated Run Baby Run arena. The men's basketball program will battle local rival NJCU in another installment of the Battle of the Boulevard at 7 p.m., and members of the famed 1967-68 men's basketball team that captured the heart of the city with its upset win over Duke in the NIT Tournament will be in attendance for a special halftime recognition ceremony. The women's basketball program will host NJCU two days later on Wednesday (Nov. 3) at 7 p.m.
