LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – The Saint Peter's University baseball team fell in Saturday's doubleheader at hOURglass Rival Rider on Saturday afternoon in Lawrenceville. The Peacocks overall and MAAC records drop to 2-14 on the season, while Rider improved to 15-13 on the year.
Game 1

How It Happened
- Saint Peter's ace, Ian Concevitch was dealing through the game's first five innings.
- With Concevitch on the mound and the Peacocks' defense behind him, the right-handed pitcher held Rider hitless over the first handful of innings.
- Concevitch struck out four overall batters and only allowed three total baserunners -- one error, one walk, and one hit by pitch -- keeping the Broncs scoreless.
- Despite the stout pitching and defense by the Peacocks, the team's offense couldn't put together any runs over the timeframe and only produced three total hits at the bag.
- In the bottom of the sixth inning, Rider scored all five of its runs behind four hits and two Peacock errors leading to the final tally.
Notes
- In a losing effort, Concevitch (1-2) finished the afternoon with 6.0 innings pitched, striking out four, while giving up four hits and one earned run.
- At the plate, Sam Delcollo, Kyle Mahady, and Brad Barkema each recorded one hit for the Peacocks, with Delcollo and Mahady also drawing one walk a piece for all of the squad's baserunners.
- Rider's Pete Soporowski (4-2) was the winning pitcher, earning a complete game shutout over SPU.

How It Happened
- Rider scored three runs in the bottom of the second, taking a 3-0 lead over Saint Peter's.
- The Peacocks would get on the board for the first time during the day in the top of the third when Chris Marquart hit a two out RBI single through the right side, scoring Matthew Dubois from third, cutting the game to 3-1.
- Rider would add two more runs in the bottom half of the frame, extending its lead to 5-1 and another one in the fourth, going ahead 6-1.
- The score remained the same over the next two innings.
- In the seventh, Marquart earned his second RBI of the game when he drew a walk with loaded bases, bringing home Nick Font for the Peacocks' second run of the game (6-2).
- The home team put up six more runs in their portion of the seventh and eighth combined, bringing the contest to an end at 12-2.
Notes
- Marquart led the team at the plate with one hit, two RBI, and two base on balls.
- Delcollo, Barkema, and Parker Gray also added one hit each in game two.
- Rider's Kyle Smith (1-0) picked up the win and Saint Peter's Jordan Warecke (1-3) received the losing decision, going 5.0 innings.
