Dear Friends of Saint Peter's University Athletics,
I hope this finds you and your family doing well in the midst of another athletics academic year that is flying by! Believe it or not, there are only three more weeks left in the basketball regular season while our other winter teams are wrapping up their respective campaigns, as well – more on that below! And we are under two weeks from the start of the baseball and softball teams returning to the diamond, with the men's golf team following shortly thereafter.
If you're in the area tonight, you'll want to make your way to Run Baby Run Arena for one of the biggest basketball games of the season, as your Peacocks battle defending MAAC champion Iona! After tonight, we're down to the final four basketball games of the season before both squads head down the Garden State Parkway for the 2022 MAAC Basketball Championships, which will be held at the Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City from March 8-12. Click HERE to purchase tickets and cheer on your Peacocks as we contend for a league championship!
Elsewhere in Peacock Nation, the swimming & diving teams wrapped up an incredible showing at the 2022 MAAC Swimming & Diving Championships last weekend. Congratulations to all Peacocks who competed in the meet! A special shoutout to junior Luke Cille, who scored his first-ever gold medal, broke a school record, and tallied three total medals at the meet! And, another special shoutout to graduate student Oleksiy Polishchuk, senior Natalie Davis, and senior Yann Le Gall who all received medals at the meet!
Our Peacocks will have more opportunities for hardware this weekend when the track & field teams compete at the 2022 MAAC Indoor Track & Field Championships – best of luck to them as they look to contend for individual medals and a team championship!
I am excited to announce our second annual Peacock Nation Day will take place on Sunday, February 27! Last year, over 150 donors came together to raise over $30,000 in support of our student-athletes and programs. This year's campaign will feature a special matching gift challenge from loyal alumnus and former student-athlete Tom Mac Mahon '68, who has offered to match the first $25,000 raised on Peacock Nation Day with a gift to the Peacock Nation fund! Additionally, as part of a new Athletic Director's Challenge for this year's campaign, the team that has the highest amount raised at the end of Peacock Nation Day will be awarded an additional $2,500 in bonus funding! You can give now in advance of Peacock Nation day!
Finally, don't forget that the 2022 Athletics Hall of Fame Luncheon, featuring the induction of our Class of 2022 and a reunion later that day during the men's basketball game against Niagara, will be held on Sunday, February 27 at 11:30 a.m. in the Duncan Family Sky Room in the Mac Mahon Center (register here). And please be sure to save the date for the 2022 William J. Murray Peacock Athletics Golf Outing, which will be held on Monday, June 13. We can't wait to see you in the near future for all of these exciting events!
Once again, thank you for your continued support of Saint Peter's University Athletics. I look forward to continued success in the year ahead. Stay healthy, stay safe and GO PEACOCKS!
Sincerely,

Rachelle Paul
Director of Athletics
