Newark, N.J.- The Saint Peter's University Swimming and Diving team began the season at the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) Invitational on Friday and Saturday at the Wellness and Events Center. The men's and women's teams finished in fourth place over the two-day meet.
Meet Notes
- The meet host, NJIT, won the invitational with more than 1,000 points scored across two days.
- Saint Peter's performed well in the men's and women's competitions by placing fourth on both sides.
- Francesca Solano Vargas finished 23rd in the women's 500-yard freestyle.
- Cassidy Mulligan came in 26th place in the women's 500-yard freestyle.
- In the women's 200-yard backstroke, Solano Vargas earned a 17th-place finish.
- Erin Dall' Agnol swam in the women's 100-yard breaststroke and finished third.
- On the men's side, Aleksa Vujosevic swam a 22.23 finals time in the men's 50-yard freestyle. In that same race, Alexey Tselichtchev finished 21st.
- Vujosevic also competed in the men's 100-yard freestyle and came in 17th place.
- In the 100-yard freestyle, Saint Peter's had Gabriel Martinez and Anthony Torres compete.
- Yanis Benadouda placed 12th in the men's 200-yard backstroke race.

On Saturday, Oct. 28, Saint Peter's will host the College of Staten Island and Manhattan College at the Yanitelli Center.
