This Week In Saint Peter's Athletics: Peacocks Preview

JERSEY CITY, NJ. - This week, the SPU soccer programs conclude its regular seasons, and SPU volleyball hosts two matches. Additionally, On Saturday, Oct. 28, SPU swim/dive hosts a tri-meet and SPU cross country will compete in the MAAC Championships.

Men's Soccer 

The SPU men's soccer team tied Quinnipiac (2-7-5) 2-2 at the Lincoln Park Turf on Saturday, Oct. 21. All the match goals were scored in a seven-minute time span as Daniel Larsson scored his team-high third goal of the season in the 58th minute which tied the match at 1-1. Later in the match, Tim Strele assisted Reiss Skeen in the 65th minute for an SPU equalizer which tied the match at 2-2. 

This week, the Peacocks wrap up the regular season. On Wednesday the men's soccer team faces Fairfield (4-9-1) on Wednesday, Oct. 25 at Jaroschak Field. The match begins at 2PM and will be streamed on the Peacocks Digital Network. On Saturday, SPU men's soccer travels to Buffalo for its regular season finale versus Canisius (1-10-5). The match starts at 1PM and will be streamed on ESPN+.

Women's Soccer 

The SPU women's soccer team has one match this week. The Peacocks travel to Fairfield, Conn. for their regular season finale against Fairfield (8-5-4) on Wednesday, Oct. 25. The match begins at 7PM and will be streamed on ESPN+. 

Volleyball

SPU volleyball hosts two matches this weekend. The Peacocks play Iona (11-12) at the Yanitelli Center on Saturday, Oct. 28 at 1PM. This match will be SPU's annual breast cancer awareness match. On Sunday, Oct. 29, Saint Peter's faces Manhattan (7-17) at 1PM. Both matches will be streamed on the Peacocks Digital Network. 

Cross Country 

Last week the Saint Peter's men's cross country team ran in the John Reif Memorial at Cornell University. This week the Saint Peter's cross country team travels to Montgomery, NY for the MAAC Championships on Saturday, Oct. 28. A course map can be found here. 

Swim/Dive 

The Saint Peter's swim and dive program continues its season this weekend. In their last meet at the NJIT Invitational, SPU finished in fourth place overall in the men's competition and the women's. This weekend, the Peacocks host the College of Staten Island and Manhattan on Saturday, Oct. 28 at the Yanitelli Center.
