STATEN ISLAND, NY. - The Saint Peter's track and field team began its indoor season at the Yourre Spence-Garcia Invitational Saturday at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex.
The Peacocks performed well in the men's long jump. Amari Campbell completed the event in 1st place. On Campbell's sixth attempt he cleared 7.04m 923' 1.25"). Campbell was followed by Fiyin Amori (3rd, 6.74M). In the Men's 300 meter dash, three Peacocks completed the race in the top-10. Hensley Jean Baptiste completed the race in 36.06 at 6th place, Delano Gooden (7th, 36.16), and closed out by Malique Jackson (8th 36.46).
SPU senior Judeson Mirac earned a top-10 finish in the men's 60 meter dash (10th, 7.10). The group of Connor Ziolkowski , Clardo Nestor, Malique Jackson, Elijah Timberlake ran the Men 4x400 Meter Relay in 3:30:44 and finished the race in 6th place.
In the women's 60M hurdles, Abigail Vital placed fourth with a time of 8.93 followed by Balikis Iyiola ran the race in 9.24 and finished in ninth place, and Mikell Dolo (14th, 9.43).
Saint Peter's sophomore Ciara Brown completed the women's shot put event in fourth place out of 42 student-athletes. Brown threw a distance of 12.35m (40' 6.25"). Additionally, Brown finished the Women's weight throw in fifth (15.20m).
SPU senior Lorretta Owoh finished the women's long jump in third place out of 28. She cleared 5.36m (17'7") on her second attempt.
