SOUTH ORANGE, N.J.- Saint Peter's University Baseball junior
Nick Markantonatos (Portland, Ore.) drove in a run as the Peacocks fell in a non-conference game 5-1 to Seton Hall University.
The Peacocks (1-21) struck first in the opening inning as senior
Anthony Abbatine (Warwick, N.Y.) doubled to start the game. Junior
Jack Eichler (Verona, N.J.) drew a walk, while junior
Sam Haney (Lake Oswego, Ore.) was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Markantonatos lifted a sacrifice fly to drive in Abbatine to put the Peacocks in front 1-0.
The Pirates took the lead with two runs in the second, while adding single runs in the fourth, fifth and seventh inning.
The Peacocks return to Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play as they host Manhattan College in a three-game series at Jaroschak Field starting on Friday at 3 pm.
