Pitts Named MAAC Co-Defensive Player of the Year; McNulty, Turner Honored on All-MAAC Teams

EDISON, N.J.- Saint Peter's University softball sophomore Dakota Pitts (Abington, Md.) earned post season honors as she was named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Softball Co-Defensive Player of the Year as announced by the conference office. Senior Cara McNulty (Middletown, N.J.) was selected to the All-MAAC Second Team, while freshman Tai Turner (Havre De Grace, Md.) was named to the All-Rookie Team.
 
Pitts recorded over 370 putouts as the Peacocks primary first baseman this season. She committed only three errors in the field.
 
McNulty shined on the field for the Peacocks this season, leading the team with a .373 batting average, 60 hits and 17 doubles. She added 31 runs scored, two homeruns, 30 RBI and was 6-for-6 in stolen bases. In the MAAC, she ranks fifth in average, tied for second in hits and second in doubles.
 
Turner turned in a tremendous first season for the Peacocks, finishing third on the team with a .343 batting average this spring and leading the team with 41 RBI. She added 34 runs scored, 48 hits, 14 doubles, two triples, five homeruns, a .579 slugging percentage, a .966 OPS mark and was 6-for-9 in stolen bases. In the conference, she ranks 12th in average, fourth in doubles, eighth in OPS, tied for tenth in triples, fourth in slugging, tied for fifth in homeruns, eighth in runs scored and third in RBI.
