JERSEY CITY, NJ. - Looking ahead for Saint Peter's Athletics, the SPU men's soccer team faces two matches this week and Saint Peter's women's soccer and volleyball competes on Saturday.
Women's Soccer
The Saint Peter's women's soccer team pulled out a 1-0 conference victory at Marist last week on Saturday Sep. 16. Stella Accettola assisted Gianna Grassifulli in the fourth minute of the match. Grassifulli has tallied two goals this season. SPU (3-4) hosts Siena (1-5-2) at Jaroschak Field on Saturday, Sep. 23 at 12PM. The Peacocks are going for their third consecutive win against the Saints. The match will be streamed on ESPN+.
Men's Soccer
Last week, the Peacocks dropped a hard-fought 2-1 loss versus Marist on Saturday Sep. 16. Saint Peter's forward Kaloyan Somov scored his first goal of the season in the 88th minute, but the Red Foxes held on. Saint Peter's (0-4-2) travels to Vestal, New York for a non-conference match against Binghamton (2-4) on Tuesday, Sep. 9 at 6:07PM. The match will be streamed on ESPN+.
Conference play resumes for the Peacocks on Saturday Sep. 23 as they travel to Loudonville for a matchup with Siena (0-5.) The match kicks off at 1PM. Saint Peter's is 4-6-1 all-time versus the Saints. The match will be streamed on Saints All Access.
Volleyball
The Saint Peter's volleyball team was defeated in three sets to none at Iona. SPU sophomore Mackenzie Tucker leads the Peacocks with 83 kills and 2.63 points per set this season. On Saturday Sep. 23, The Peacocks will face off with Rider (2-8) on the road. The match will be streamed on ESPN+. Saint Peter's has yet to host a match this season. Next week, the Peacocks will host Marist on Saturday Sep. 30 in their home opener.
