JERSEY CITY, NJ. - Saint Peter's Athletics has named Abigail Vital from track & field and Victor Fuentes from swim & dive as the Peacocks Of The Month for their performances in January.
In Saint Peter's meet against Monmouth at the Yanitelli Center on Jan. 20, Fuentes won the 100-yard and 200-yard breaststroke heats. The SPU sophomore swam a time of 2:11.17 in the 200 breaststroke event and 59.15 in the 100 breaststroke. Additionally, Fuentes competed in the men's 200-yard IM (2:04.60) and the men's 100-yard breaststroke (58.89) against LIU on Jan. 27. The Saint Peter's Swim & Dive team competes against Manhattan in Riverside on Saturday, Feb. 3.
Abigail Vital won the women's 60M hurdles at the TCNJ Lions Invitational on Jan. 12. The New Jersey native ran the event in 9.08. Vital set her personal-best in the women's 60M hurdles on Jan. 26 at the Dr. Sanders Invitational. The SPU junior completed the event in 8.87. The Saint Peter's Track & Field team travels to Ocean Breeze in Staten Island for the Mets Championships on Friday, Feb. 2.
