South Orange, N.J.- Saint Peter's Baseball fell to Seton Hall University, 7-6, on Wednesday afternoon at Owen T. Carroll Field.
Game Notes
- It was a competitive game where the Peacocks hung around until the very end of a losing contest. Â
- The Peacocks had the game in control until the Pirates stormed back in the eighth inning with a comeback win.
- The game started off as a defensive battle with Saint Peter's breaking the scoreless tie in the second inning. Â
- The Peacocks put two runs on the board in the second. Â
- Zack Sylvester hit an RBI single in the bottom of the sixth, which tied the game at 2-2. Â
- Saint Peter's opened up the scoring with a three-run eighth inning that put the team ahead of Seton Hall by four runs, 6-2. Â
- In Seton Hall's offensive half of the eighth, the Pirates exploded for five runs.
- Saint Peter's was unable to send the game into extra innings and fell to Seton Hall, 7-6.
- The loss sent Saint Peter's to a 4-13 record.
On Friday, Saint Peter's will open up the first of a four-game home-and-home series against Lehigh University this weekend.
