COLLEGE PARK, MD. - The Saint Peter's Softball team (6-6) was defeated 13-0 in five innings by the Maryland Terrapins (7-12) Thursday at Maryland Softball Stadium.
The game was scoreless through three innings. The Peacocks recorded one hit in the contest. In the top of the fourth inning, Cara McNulty was hit by a pitch. Dakota Pitts delivered a single past the shortstop. The Peacocks left two runners stranded on base in the fourth inning.
In the bottom of the fourth, the Terrapins bats heated up as they put up 13 runs off 11 hits. A home run from Maryland's Diamond Williams followed by an RBI double from Mazie MacFarland gave the Terrapins a 2-0 advantage. Maryland's Gracelyn Solarz and Hannah Runk added two RBI's each in the contest. Maryland's Megan Mikami went 1-3 at the plate with two RBIs.
It will be a quick turnaround for the Peacocks. Saint Peter's travels to South Carolina State for a doubleheader on Friday, Mar. 8 and Saturday, Mar. 9. The first game on Friday begins at 1PM.
