JERSEY CITY, N.J. - The Saint Peter's Softball team (15-29, 5-13 MAAC) was defeated 14-4 in six innings on Wednesday against Marist (31-14, 13-4 MAAC) at Jaroschak Field.

Saint Peter's scored four runs off eight hits. Kaitlynn Peters led the Peacocks with two RBIs.

Jess Forte went 2-3 at the plate with one run scored, and one RBI.

Marist's Peyton Pusey went 4-5 with two runs scored, and two RBIs. Maiah McDonald and Haley Ahr recorded three RBIs each for the Red Foxes.

Marist Pitcher Kiley Myers pitched six innings, gave up four earned runs on eight hits, tallied six strikeouts, and picked up the win.

McDonald and Maddie Pleasants each homered in the top of the first inning and Marist led 2-0.

Dakota Pitts delivered a double to center field. Zailees Seda singled to center field, and Pitts advanced to third. Peters hit a sacrifice fly to right field that scored Pitts for Saint Peter's first run.

The Peacocks took the lead in the bottom of the fourth inning. Forte started the inning with a single to first base. Pitts hit an RBI double to left field and scored Forte. Ashley Murphy pinch ran for Pitts and advanced to third on a sacrifice bunt from Seda. Peters hit an RBI single to center field and the Peacocks led 3-2

Marist's bats popped off in the fifth and sixth innings. Marist scored seven runs in the top of the fifth inning, which was highlighted by a two-RBI single from Samantha Rogers and a two-RBI double from Ahr. SPU trailed 9-3.

In the bottom of the fifth inning, Maiah Skakal walked and stole second base. Forte hit an RBI single to left field and Skakal scored SPU's final run of the game.

Marist tacked on five runs in the top of the sixth inning. Isabella Manory, Ronnie Howard, McDonald, and Ahr each recorded an RBI and the Red Foxes sealed the game at 14-4.
This weekend, the Peacocks will travel to Loudonville for a three-game series at Siena (22-19, 7-10 MAAC). Saint Peter's will square off with Siena in a doubleheader on Saturday, Apr. 27. Game one starts at noon. On Sunday, Apr. 28 the Peacocks will face the Saints in a game at noon.
