JERSEY CITY, N.J. - Saint Peter's University swimmer
Patch Robinson was named the male Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Student-Athlete of the Week, the conference announced Wednesday.
Robinson has had a dominant start to his rookie campaign, being named Jersey Mike's MAAC Rookie of the Week in back-to-back weeks after another strong showing at Sacred Heart's Friendsgiving Duals. He became the first male swimmer in program history to win back-to-back Rookie of the Week honors and the first Peacock to win consecutive MAAC accolades overall since 2014.
Robinson delivered another strong performance over the weekend, earning three podium finishes across his events. He opened the meet with a silver medal in the 1000-yard freestyle, posting a time of 9:58.68, and added another silver in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:00.17. He also contributed to a bronze finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay, helping the Peacocks secure third in 1:31.42. Robinson has recorded 10 podium finishes across 19 total events through the first four meets this season – including 10 podiums in 12 events during November alone.
Against conference opponents, he has been even sharper, posting seven podium finishes through nine MAAC events. He has also set Saint Peter's program records in the 500-meter freestyle with a time of 4:43.72 and in the 1650-meter freestyle with a time of 16:25.27.
