JERSEY CITY, N.J.- Saint Peter's Softball lost both games of the doubleheader to the College of the Holy Cross on Saturday afternoon at Jaroschak Field.
Game One Recap
In the day's first game, Saint Peter's had a hiccup against Holy Cross in a 8-4 defeat. The Crusaders used a five-run second inning to put Saint Peter's in a large deficit.
Lauren Czerwinski and
Olivia Christopher each had one RBI during the third inning to break Saint Peter's scoreless affair.
Dakota Pitts managed to pull the Peacocks within two runs, 6-4, in the bottom of the fifth with an RBI. Unfortunately, Holy Cross added two more runs off of an RBI single from Jena Whipple that put the game out of reach for the Peacocks.
Game Two Recap
Do not let the 8-4 final score deceive you. This was a competitive game that went into extra innings, where the Crusaders scored four runs in the eighth inning to close out a two-game sweep of the Peacocks.
Heading into the seventh inning, it was a 3-3 stalemate that neither team could break. Even after the Crusaders scored four in the eighth inning, the Peacocks threatened to come back by scoring a run to make it a 7-4 final score.
Saturday afternoon's two losses dropped the Peacocks to a 4-4 overall record.

Saint Peter's will play a road doubleheader at Delaware State University on Tuesday, March 4. First pitch for game one is scheduled for 12 p.m. Game two will start shortly after game one concludes.
