Cashieve Blair Named MAAC Student-Athlete of the Week After Dominant Indoor Season

JERSEY CITY, NJ – The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) announced Tuesday afternoon junior sprinter Cashieve Blair was named the MAAC Student-Athlete of the Week, following back-to-back stellar performances.

Blair capped off an indoor season defined by dominance, delivering a flawless performance at the MAAC Indoor Track & Field Championships. He struck gold in both the 200m (21.36) and 60m (6.79)—both personal bests. His 200m time shattered his own Saint Peter's school record (previously 21.58), and he improved in both finals after running 6.80 in the 60m and 21.43 in the 200m prelims.

His championship performance followed a standout showing at Yale's Giegengack Invitational, where he secured first in the 400m (48.18) and helped the 4x400 relay to victory with a 50.11 split. Blair closed out the season with six consecutive event wins, solidifying himself as one of the top sprinters in the MAAC.

Blair and the rest of the Peacocks will take a short break before kicking off the outdoor season on Saturday, March 22, hosting the Peacock Relays at the Ronald L. Rice Sports Complex in Vailsburg Park, Newark, NJ.
