WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J.- Saint Peter's Softball swept Monmouth University on Wednesday night at MU Softball Field.
In arguably the most dominant performance of the season, Saint Peter's was in control of both games on Wednesday. Over two games, Saint Peter's outscored Monmouth by eight runs, 12-4. The first game went the Peacocks' way by a score of 8-4. In the last game of the doubleheader series, it was a shutdown performance for the Peacocks.
Game One Recap
Steady offensive output was the name of the Peacocks' game in the doubleheader opener. At the end of the fourth inning, the Peacocks held a 7-0 lead over the Hawks. In the win, sophomore

Dakota Pitts led the way at the plate with three hits each. Pitts added two RBIs.

Tai Turner was on fire at the plate with three RBIs for Saint Peter's. Her first run was driven in the second inning when she doubled to right center field. In the top of the fourth,
Game Two Recap
Despite a slow start for the Peacocks' bats, a steady stream of runs across the last four innings sealed the 4-0 victory over the Hawks. The scoreless tie was broken in the top of the fourth inning when Pitts had a fielder's choice that brought in a run. Pitts also homered in the sixth to make it a 3-0 ball game.
In the seventh inning, Forte recorded her second RBI of the game with an RBI double that scored Christopher. In the circle,
Ava White handled business with seven scoreless innings for the Peacocks.
Saint Peter's last win over Monmouth came in April 2022.

The Peacocks will face Marist College in a three-game series on Saturday, March 22 and Sunday, March 23. Saturday will feature a doubleheader with the first game starting at 12 p.m.
