JERSEY CITY, N.J.- Saint Peter's Softball split a doubleheader with FDU on Tuesday afternoon at Jaroschak Field.
Saint Peter's took home the victory in game one and FDU responded with a victory of its own in the second game.
Game One Recap
The doubleheader opener was the definition of a nail-biting game. The Peacocks had a four-run lead erased in the bottom of the sixth inning. Luckily, the Peacocks used a fielder's choice in the bottom of the seventh inning to score the game-winning run en route to a 5-4 victory over the Knights.
Jess Forte accounted for three RBIs in the win. Her first RBI came from a double to center field in the third inning. Forte drove in an additional two runs in the fifth inning with a single to left field where she advanced to second base on the throw home.
Following a four-run sixth inning for FDU that tied the game at 4-4,
Tai Turner scored the winning run from third base for the Peacocks. Starting pitcher
Morgan Lipansky received the win for the Peacocks.
Game Two Recap
FDU reigned supreme over Saint Peter's, 5-1. Forte had a sacrifice fly for an RBI in the bottom of the fifth inning that scored
Ashley Murphy. In the circle,
Ava White received the loss for the Peacocks. Forte finished the day with four RBIs in the two doubleheader games.
With Tuesday's split, Saint Peter's moved to 8-14 on the season.

Saint Peter's will travel to Coppin State University for a doubleheader on Thursday, March 27 at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. The Peacocks will be road warriors for the next few weeks as the next home series is not until April 18. The next 13 games will all be on the road for the Peacocks.
