EDISON, NJ – After a standout performance at Yale's 19th Annual Giegengack Invitational on Saturday, senior long jumper
Amari Campbell has been named the Jersey Mike's MAAC Men's Field Athlete of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday afternoon.
Campbell secured his sixth consecutive podium finish in the long jump and his second straight 24-foot-plus leap over the Valentine's Day weekend. He continued his dominance in the event, finishing .54m ahead of the field and the only competitor to clear seven meters. The senior recorded a mark of 7.32m, landing just half an inch shy of his career best, and currently sits first in the conference.
The honor marks his second career MAAC weekly award, the program's second Men's Field Athlete of the Week selection, and the sixth overall MAAC weekly accolade for the track and field programs this season.
Campbell and the rest of the Peacocks turn their attention to the 2026 MAAC Track and Field Championships at the Nike Track & Field Center at The Armory in New York, New York, for the 22nd consecutive year, on Saturday and Sunday, February 21-22.
First events begin at 5 p.m. with the men's one mile on the track and men's weight throw in the field, and will be broadcast live on ESPN+ for the first time in league history.
