ARLINGTON, Va.- The Saint Peter's Peacocks could not mount a comeback late in the ninth inning against George Washington at Barcroft Park.

The Peacocks tried to come back after a strong defensive effort from the Revolutionaries with six late-game runs, but ultimately could not pull through in the final inning, with the game ending in a 6-9 loss for Saint Peter's.

Even with the loss, SPU put up an impressive stat line with RBI leaders being Alex Manent (2), Aidan Forrest (2), and Joey Dwyer (1). Along with Marcus Monroe having a strong showing on the mound with five innings pitched and only having nine earned runs.

HOW IT HAPPENED-
George Washington was able to answer first with two runs in the second inning and four more in the sixth inning.
Saint Peter's would answer back at the top of the seventh inning with Manent hitting a home run to left center, sending him and RJ Azarieh to home base. Washington would then add two more runs at the bottom of the inning. This was followed by Bobby Lavely sending it to left field, letting Louis D'Alessio advance to home plate at the top of the eighth. Washington would go on to add more runs at the bottom of the eighth.

The Peacocks went on to score three more runs at the top of the ninth with Forrest sending Manent and Chase Fogg to home, and D'Alessio sending it to left field to send Steve Polizzi to home plate. Ultimately, Washington would pull through defensively, ending the game.
