POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y.- The Peacocks (2-13) dropped the final game of their series against Marist (2-12) in a 5-11 loss on Sunday afternoon.

Louis D'Alessio and Luke Schwartz had two RBIs each to add to their line, with Ian Huang adding one RBI as well. Marcus Monroe pitched for Saint Peter's for five innings, facing 21 batters and allowing eight hits during his time on the mound.

HOW IT HAPPENED-
The Peacocks would have a hard time on the defensive end with Marist scoring three runs at the bottom of the first inning. Saint Peter's would respond with a run from a grounded ball from Schwartz that helped send Steve Polizzi home. This was then followed by a strong defensive effort at the bottom of the second to hold the Red Foxes to zero runs.

In the top of the third inning, another run was scored for Saint Peter's by a fielder's choice from a hit by Huang, giving Chase Fogg the opportunity to score. SPU would then put up another strong defensive effort at the bottom of the third, ending the inning at 2-3.

The next run would not be scored till the fifth, where the Red Foxes would add two more runs to the scoreboard. The Peacocks responded with a run of their own at the top of the sixth, from Schwartz hitting a double, sending Max Doninger to home plate. Marist would then respond by adding one more at the bottom of the inning.

Saint Peter's would add two more runs in the eighth inning from a hit by D'Alessio that led to an error at shortstop, allowing Schwartz and Polizzi to score. Marist would then go on to score five runs of their own.

The Peacocks would go runless at the top of the ninth, ending the match in a 5-11 loss for Saint Peter's.
