JERSEY CITY, N.J.- The Peacocks fell to the Stags in a high scoring shootout in a 7-18 loss on Sunday afternoon.
Alex Manent had a game by hitting a home run and adding three RBIs to his line. Marcus Monroe started on the mound for SPU he pitched for three innings facing 18 batters allowing four hits during his time. Followed by Zaine Toneske, he faced 17 batters allowing four hits.
HOW IT HAPPENED-
The Peacocks struggled defensively in the first inning allowing five runs against the Stags. Saint Peter's would answer back with four runs of their own from a Luke Schwartz single to center field allowing Joey Dwyer to score. This was followed by Manent's home run sending himself, Schawartz to home plate.
The Peacocks continued to play aggressively by adding three more runs from an Aidan Forrest single to the pitcher leading to Steve Polizzi to score followed by RJ Azarieh to steal home plate. To conclude the inning Forrest scored from an error by the shortstop.
After the third inning the Saint Peter's struggled on the mound allowing Fairfield score 13 unanswered runs ending the game as a loss for SPU.
