Arthur Bertrand enters his second year as a Volunteer Assistant Swimming & Diving Coach in 2020-21.

Bertrand was part of a coaching staff that continued the program's upward trend during his fourth campaign in 2019-20, which include a 5-3 dual meet record on the men's side and three wins by the women, including a sweep of conference rival Manhattan. The Peacocks earned a collective 11 medals highlighted by a pair of top-three finishes on the men's side over the course of the 2020 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Swimming & Diving Championships, which saw the men place seventh and the women ninth by the end of the four-day competition. The program also placed 10 student-athletes on the 2020 MAAC Swimming All-Academic Team, while Justine Drake '23 was named the MAAC Women's Swimmer of the Week at one point during the season.

Bertrand was an integral piece of the Saint Peter's men's swimming and diving teams that posted a combined meet record of 17-3 during the previous two seasons. A backstroker from France, Bertrand transferred to Saint Peter's in 2017-18 after two seasons at NAIA member West Virginia Tech. He was a three-time MAAC Championship medalist and member of the 2019 MAAC All-Academic Team.

Bertrand medaled once at the 2018 MAAC Championship in the 200 backstroke and twice during the 2019 MAAC Championship in the 100 backstroke and 200 backstroke. During his two seasons in Jersey City, he won a number of races in the backstroke at a variety of meets and served as a leg on a number of relay teams for the Peacocks that boasted top-five performances.

Academically, Bertrand graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in International Business and Trade, finishing with a grade point average of 3.94 following the spring of 2019. In September 2019, he was awarded the Bob McClouskey Insurance (BMI) MAAC Postgraduate Scholar-Athlete Scholarship.
