Austin Stewart was named the Athletic Performance/Strength and Conditioning Coach in May of 2022.
Stewart joins Saint Peter's after spending the last two years at Wagner College as a Strength and Conditioning Graduate Assistant, working with the men's basketball, track and field and softball programs. Stewart was the primary strength coach under now-SPU head coach Bashir Mason at Wagner and helped the Seahawks win the Northeast Conference regular season title in 2020-21 and advance to the NEC Title game in 2021-22.
Stewart joined the Wagner staff after a brief stint with the Tift County School System where he served as a strength & conditioning intern.
Prior to Tift County, he served as a sports performance intern at Stanford University. During his time with the Cardinal, Stewart assisted with a multitude of programs with a focus on return to play protocols, data collection, and facility maintenance.
Stewart started in the sports performance world as an intern for his alma mater Valdosta State. In his time there, Stewart worked with women's soccer, football, cross country, women's basketball, and women's volleyball while earning his bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology.
Stewart also obtained his Master's Degree in Business Administration with a concentration on management from Wagner in the spring of 2022.
