Sammy Adjei was named head coach of the Saint Peter’s University women’s soccer program in 2026, bringing a proven track record of program-building success, player development, and regional recruiting ties to Jersey City.

Adjei arrives at Saint Peter’s following a standout tenure at Caldwell University, where he transformed the Cougars into one of the top programs in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC). Under his leadership, Caldwell reached back-to-back CACC Championship matches and posted a program-record 13-3-4 mark in 2025. For his efforts, Adjei was named the CACC Women’s Soccer Coach of the Year.

Prior to his time at Caldwell, Adjei served as head coach at Bloomfield College from 2020-23. There, he guided the program to one of its most successful seasons in nearly two decades, significantly improving the team’s competitiveness within the conference and laying a strong foundation for sustained success.

In addition to his collegiate coaching experience, Adjei has been heavily involved in player development throughout the region. He has served as College Pathway Director with SFL Club NJ and is the CEO and founder of Soccer Virtuoso, where he has helped mentor and develop aspiring collegiate student-athletes. His coaching experience also includes time at the USL2 level and with the Olympic Development Program.

A former standout student-athlete, Adjei enjoyed a decorated playing career at Iona University, where he earned NSCAA All-America honors. He went on to play professionally with the New York Red Bulls organization and overseas in Denmark. On the international stage, Adjei represented the United States at the youth national team level and Ghana at the U-20 level.

Adjei holds a bachelor’s degree in business marketing from Iona University and earned his MBA from Rider University.
