Mike McGuire continues his assault on the Saint Peter's College baseball record books.
The senior from Farmington, CT broke the all-time RBIs, games played, and games started records earlier this week. With his offensive performance against Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) rival Marist this weekend, he added to each of those records, and on Sunday moved closer to another. In the Peacocks win on Sunday McGuire crushed two home runs, moving him into sole possession of second place all-time. He needs just four round-trippers to tie the Saint Peter's College all-time home run mark (21 by Andy D'Ambrosio, 1985-88). McGuire will graduate from Saint Peter's in a few weeks with his degree in Business Management.
The Peacock Nine have nine regular season games remaining in the 2009 season. They return to action on Saturday, May 9th, when they face NJIT in a non-conference doubleheader at Riverfront Stadium in Newark. Both teams will face each other again on Sunday, May 10th at Noon along the shores of the Hackensack River - and the friendly confines of Jaroschack Field.
