what's up with the jaspers… Manhattan comes into the contest 13-8 overall and 7-1 in MAAC play. The Jaspers are coming off a loss against NJIT on Wednesday, snapping their six-match winning streak. The Jaspers are led by Malia McGuinness, who leads the team with 219 kills on the year. Teodora Peric is among the MAAC leaders in assists with 557. Anna Kitlar leads the team in blocks with 59.
last time we met… Manhattan defeated Saint Peter's in straight sets back in September. Laura Reinhart paced the Peacocks with nine kills while Lauren Behrens added eight kills on the night. Kristina Baehr posted a team-best 24 assists and Jenny Pliska recorded a team-high eight digs in the loss. Sydney Volovski and Malia McGuiness each had eight kills to pace the Jaspers while Ellie Wiekamp paced the team with nine digs and Teodora Peric notched 25 assists in the winning effort.

what's up with the gaels… Iona comes into the contest, following its match against Rider University on Saturday. Catrina Warren leads the Gaels with 211 kills on the season. Natalie Ziskin has a team-best 612 assists this season. Taylor Cembalisty has amassed 147 digs to lead the team.
last time we met… Iona defeated Saint Peter's earlier this month. Laura Reinhart paced the Peacocks with 10 kills while Jenny Pliska recorded a team-high 12 digs and Kaitlyn Sitton recorded a team-best 13 assists in the loss. Alicja Pawelec fueled the Gaels with 15 kills while Catrina Warren tallied13 kills and 13 digs. Natalie Ziskin notched 34 assists in the winning effort.
last time out… Saint Peter's traveled to Rhode Island on Wednesday to take on Providence College. Sophomore Lauren Behrens tallied a team-best 11 kills Junior Dayana Arrufat-Rondon registered eight kills while senior Stephanie Mills and freshman Meredith Przybocki finished with four kills each. Freshman Kaitlyn Sitton paced the Peacocks with 16 assists.
coming along nicely… Amanda Colombo is continuing to see more action in her freshman campaign. She has tallied at least three kills in three straight matches.
Przybocki continuing to grow… Meredith Przybocki continues to shine in her first season at Saint Peter's. She has finished with at least five kills in her last five of her last six matches.
signs of potential… Kaitlyn Sitton continues to grow at Saint Peter's. With added playing time, she has performed well and even tallied a career-high 16 assists against Providence on Wednesday.
always lending the assist… Kristina Baehr has finished with double-digit assists in six straight matches.
climbin' up the record books… Jenny Pliska is having a great senior campaign. She has moved into sixth place all-time in Saint Peter's women's volleyball history with 1,178 digs.
assisting herself to history… Kristina Baehr is fourth all-time in assists, totaling 1,515 thus far. She has amassed 563 assists on the season and still climbing.
the peacocks' spread-offense… Saint Peter's has multiple scoring options on their roster. Laura Reinhart, Dayana Arrufat-Rondon and Lauren Behrens lead the team in kills. Each player has over 165 kills on the season thus far. The Peacocks are a perfect 3-0 when all three players have at least 10 kills in the same match.
dig,dig,dig… Pliska continues to have a great senior year. In conference play, she is among the MAAC leaders in digs per set. She is also among the nation leaders in digs (355) and digs per set (4.55) this season.
reinhart chasing history… Senior Laura Reinhart currently ranks third all-time in reception percentage at Saint Peter's and looks to claim the top spot by the end of her Saint Peter's career.
1,000-dig club… Senior Jenny Pliska became the 11th player since 1995 in Saint Peter's history to eclipse 1,000 digs in her collegiate career. The dig came in Saint Peter's home opening win against St. Francis Brooklyn on Sept. 17. Congrats Jenny!
next on tap… Saint Peter's returns to action Oct. 26-27, when they travel to upstate New York to take on Niagara and Canisius.
preseason poll…The Saint Peter's women's volleyball team has been picked ninth in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Preseason Coaches Poll. Fairfield, Siena, Canisius and Manhattan round out the top four. Iona, Marist, Niagara, Rider, the Peacocks and Quinnipiac round out the 10-team poll.
new to the flock… The Peacocks welcome junior Dayana Arrufat-Rondon along with freshmen TJ Causing, Amanda Colombo, Meredith Przybocki and Kaitlyn Sitton to 2013 squad.
