opening stretch… The Saint Peter's track and field team opens up the 2013-14 campaign in the Yale Opener.
last time we met… Saint Peter's competed at Yale last season with exceptional results. Isaiah Harris led the men, winning the High Jump and the Triple Jump. Lance Weaver set a Yale record in the 1000-meter, notching a time of 2:30.98. Jamel Presley broke a Saint Peter's record in the 60-meter hurdles, posting a time of 8:18 seconds. Steffany Laureano also placed first in the 400-meter. Kene Aneke finished first in the Shot Put and Ieshawn Johnson won the Weight Throw competition.
last time out… The Peacocks last collectively competed in the MAAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Isaiah Harris and Shona Potrzuski each won three events to earn Most Outstanding Performer honors to pace the men and women's teams. The women placed second, while the men placed third in the standings.
championship pride… The women's team hopes to continue its success in 2013-14. The indoor women's team has won the past three MAAC Championships while the outdoor team has won the MAAC championships two of the last three seasons.
ncaa honors for harris… Isaiah Harris concluded his 2012-13 campaign earning a trip to the NCAA Championships East Preliminary round where he competed in the Triple Jump and the High Jump.
welcome back… The men and women's teams return a number of top performers in 2013-14. Those members include Isaiah Harris, Shona Potrzuski, Jamel Presley, Gina Nocerino, Lance Weaver, Mohamed Merdan, Sunita Kumar, Essence Rogers, Steffany Laureano, Ieshawn Johnson and many others.
next on deck… The Peacocks return to action Dec. 14, when they compete in the Brother Jasper Meet in New York.
about the coach… Head coach Mike Massone is entering his sixth season as the men and women's track and field head coach.
