Edmunds Paces Men's Golf To Weather-Shortened C&F Bank Invitational

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Eric Edmunds (Skaneateles, N.Y./Skaneateles) finished 91st to lead the Saint Peter's men's golf team to a 30th-place standing at the C&F Bank Invitational on Monday. The event was shortened to a single round after snow cancelled the second and third rounds.

Edmunds was one-over par after six holes on Sunday before play was halted due to snowy conditions. The sophomore started out slow on Tuesday, posting a bogey and double bogey before recorded consecutive birdies on the sixth and seventh holes. He also recorded bogeys on the 10th and 13th holes and a double bogey on the 12th to finish in 91st place with a 76, nine strokes behind the medalist.

Andrew Gain (Gold Coast, Australia/Bond College) (105th, 78), Brian Grubbs (Cotez, Colo./Montezuma Cortez) (115th, 79), Nicholas Dilio (Hopewell Junction, N.Y./John Jay) (124th, 80) and Luke Previte (Middlesex, N.J./Middlesex) (158th, 92) also competed for the Peacocks in the event.

Tennessee won the shortened one-day event with a score of 285, two strokes ahead of Florida State (287) and Michigan (287) while Eastern Michigan (288), William & Mary (289) and Notre Dame (289) rounded out the Top-5 teams in the first. Saint Peter's finished 30th with a score of 313.

The Peacocks were apart of the second wave of teams that went on Sunday. The first group of 16 teams did not have many issues with the weather, but the second group dealt with heavy rain, snow and wind before play was halted.

Saint Peter's returns to action at the Whiting-Turning Towson Invitational in Graysonville, Md., on Sunday.
