GRAYSONVILLE, Md. – Eric Edmunds (Skaneateles, N.Y./Skaneateles) shot a one-over par in the second round to move into second place and help the Saint Peter's men's golf team jump into ninth place at the Whiting Turner Towson Invitational on Monday.
After posting a 74 in the first round, Edmunds carded a one-over round of 73 after posting birdies on the first, eighth and 11th holes while registering bogeys on the ninth and 16th holes and a double bogey on the seven hole. The sophomore moved into a tie for fourth place with a two-round score of 147, seven strokes behind the current leader.
Andrew Gain (Gold Coast, Australia/Bond College) (54th place, 158), Brian Grubbs (Cortez, Colo./Montetzuma Cortez) (54th place, 158), Nicholas Dilio (Hopewell Junction, N.Y./John Jay) (54th place, 158) and Brandon Molson (Westfield, N.J./Westfield) (100th place, 166) also competed for the Peacocks.
William & Mary leads the three-day event after the second round with a score of 583, 10 strokes ahead of Indiana (Pa.) (603) while Rutgers (604), Loyola (604) and Binghamton (617) rounded out the Top-5 teams. Four of the five Saint Peter's competitors shot in the 70s to card a 303 in the second round after shooting a 318 in the first round to move up eight spots into a tie for ninth with a two-day score of 621.
The Peacocks return to action in the final round of the Whiting Turner Towson Invitational on Monday. Molson will tee off on the first hole at 8 a.m. and will be followed by Dilio (8:10 a.m.), Grubbs (8:20 a.m.), Gain (8:30 a.m.) and Edmunds (8:40 a.m.) on the first tee.
