DEAL, N.J. – Nicholas Dilio (Hopewell Junction, N.Y./John Jay) finished tied for fifth to lead the Saint Peter's men's golf team to a fourth-place standing at the Monmouth Quad Match on Thursday.
Dilio posted a round of 76 to finish in fifth place, four strokes behind the medalists.
Steven Competiello (Staten Island, N.Y./St. Peter's Boys) posted a career-best round of 79 to finish in 15th place while Brian Grubbs (Cortez, Colo./Montezuma Cortez) also posted a 79 on the day to finish tied with Competiello. Brandon Molson (Westfield, N.J./Westfield) (22nd place, 82) and Luke Previte (Middlesex, N.J./Middlesex) (22nd place, 82) also participated for the Peacocks.
Fairleigh Dickinson and Monmouth finished tied for the team title with a score of 303 while Hofstra (309) and Saint Peter's (316) rounded out the field.
The Peacocks return to action when they host the Metro Honda Peacock Invitational on Tuesday. Tee times start at 10 a.m., but Saint Peter's will tee off at 12 p.m.
