GRAYSONVILLE, Md. – Eric Edmunds (Skaneateles, N.Y./Skaneateles) finished 21st to lead the Saint Peter's men's golf team to an 18th-place standing at the Whiting-Turner Towson Invitational on Tuesday.
Edmunds came into the final round tied for fourth after posting a 74 and 73 to a card a 147 after two rounds of play. The sophomore posted an 84 in the final round to move down to 21st place with a three-round score of 231, 15 strokes behind the medalist.
Brian Grubbs (Cortez, Colo./Montezuma Cortez) (49th place, 238),
Andrew Gain (Gold Coast, Australia/Bond College) (76th place, 242),
Nicholas Dilio (Hopewell Junction, N.Y./John Jay) (78th place, 243) and
Brandon Molson (Westfield, N.J./Westfield) (103rd place, 253) rounded out the Peacocks' five competitors.
William & Mary went wire-to-wire to win the three-day event with a score of 888, 25 strokes ahead of Loyola (913) while Rutgers (914), Indiana (Pa.) (918) and Central Connecticut State rounded out the Top-5 teams in the field. Saint Peter's posted 318, 303 and 333 in the three rounds to card a 954 for the tournament and finish in 18th place.
The Peacocks return to action on Sunday at the Lafayette Invitational.
