opening tip... Friday's game between Saint Peter's and Rider marks the 54th meeting in the all-time series dating back to the 1946-47 season.
• The Peacocks ended a five-game losing streak  against the Broncs with a 77-69 win on Jan. 16 in Lawrenceville.
• Rider leads the all-time series 29-23.
• The Broncs last win in the matchup was a 72-57 decision on Feb. 14, 2013.
• Saint Peter's is 4-13 under head coach John Dunne against the Broncs, including 4-11 in the regular season. The Peacocks are 1-6 under Dunne at the Yanitelli Center against Rider. The lone win in Jersey City was an 80-60 victory on Jan. 29, 2011. 

about the broncs... Rider comes into the contest 10-9 overall and 6-4 in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference action after defeating Monmouth 77-71 in overtime on Sunday.
• Senior F Daniel Stewart powered the Broncs with 21 points against the Hawks. The senior tallied 17 points and eight rebounds in a 66-56 win against Marist on Jan. 18. Stewart ranks second on the team with 15.8 points and 5.9 rebounds per game.
• Senior G Tommy Pereira registered a career-high 20 points off the bench on Sunday. The senior, who recorded his previous high with 17 points against Saint Peter's on Jan. 17, 2013, is averaging 5.3 points and 1.3 rebounds per game.
• Senior G Anthony Myles  added 12 points against Monmouth. Myles had a team-high 23 points in the win against the Red Foxes. The senior leads the team with 17.9 points and 4.4 rebounds per game.
• Freshman G Jimmie Taylor is third on the team with 10.7 points and 3.6 rebounds per game. The freshman recorded 15 points in a 90-78 victory against Niagara on Jan. 12. 

last time we met... Freshman Trevis Wyche keyed a 13-3 run in the second half to power Saint Peter's to its third-straight win after the Peacocks defeated Rider 77-69 on Jan. 16, 2014. After the Broncs tied the game at 35, Wyche made a 3-pointer to give the Peacocks the lead for good with 15:24 left and then added a traditional 3-point play in the decisive 13-3 run to lift his team to the victory. The freshman finished with 14 points. Desi Washington paced the Peacocks with 21 points while Marvin Dominique added 16 points in the winning effort. Daniel Stewart led all-scorers with 28 points for the Broncs while Jimmie Taylor chipped in 14 points. 

quick hits on iona game... Iona defeated Saint Peter's 71-63 on Sunday.
• Junior F Marvin Dominique paced the Peacocks with 18 points against the Gaels. It was the junior's 13th game with at least 15 points.  Dominique is averaging 20.5 points per game in his last six home games. The junior leads the team with 17.5 points and 8.7 rebounds per game.
• Junior G Desi Washington added 13 points on Sunday. The junior has posted double figures in points 13 times this season, including five games with at least 15 points. The squad is 3-2 when Washington reaches 15 points in a contest. The junior ranks second on the team with 12.9 points and 3.2 rebounds per game.
• Freshman G Trevis Wyche added 11 points to notch his eighth 10+ game in his last 10 tilts. Wyche is averaging 10.7 points per game in that stretch and now ranks third on the team with nine double-figure point performances. The freshman ranks third on the squad with 8.4 points and 2.3 rebounds per game.
• Freshman F Quadir Welton added seven points, 10 rebounds and a career-high five blocks on Sunday. The freshman now has three double-digit rebound performances this year and has hauled in at least six boards 11 times this season. Welton is averaging 5.3 points and 6.1 rebounds per game this season and leads the squad with 24 rejections.
• The loss was the Peacocks third-straight loss, marking the third three-game losing streak this season. The squad has not lost four-consecutive tilts this year. 

hourglass rivalry comes to saint peter's... Friday's game marks the first men's basketball game at the Yanitelli Center in the new Hourglass Rivalry.
• The Hourglass Rivalry is between Monmouth, Rider and Saint Peter's and encompasses all the sports that the three MAAC New Jersey schools compete. The rivalry gets its namesake since all three schools are about an hour away from each other.
• Not counting the Saint Peter's-Monmouth women's basketball tilt on Thursday, Rider is 9-7-1, Monmouth is 8-6 and Saint Peter's is 5-9-1.

next on tap... Saint Peter's travels to Manhattan on Monday.
• The squad returns home to host Siena on Feb. 7 and Monmouth on Feb. 9.
• After playing 11 of its first 18 games on the road, starting with the tilt against Iona the Peacocks will play seven of its final 11 games at the Yanitelli Center where the squad is 3-4 this season. 

three game winning streak against the three-game losing streak... In the past six games, the Peacocks have won three in a row and lost three in a row.
• Saint Peter's is shooting better in the three-game losing streak, hitting at a 39.3 percent from the floor after connecting on a 35.1 percent rate in the winning streak.
• The squad was a better 3-point shooter in the win streak after posting a 38.2 percentage from behind the arc compared to a 24.6 percent in the losing streak. The Peacocks also made seven more attempts from downtown in the win streak on less attempts.
• The biggest difference comes at the foul line where the team made 45 more charity tosses in the winning streak after sinking 68 of 80 free throws compared to 23 of 43 in the current three-game skid.
• Thanks to the better 3-point shooting and 45 more free throws, the Peacocks averaged 69.0 points per game in the win streak while only scoring 57.7 points per game in the current losing streak.
• Defensively the opponent averaged 63.7 points per game in the win streak while averaging 68.3 points per game in the losing streak. 

statistically speaking... Saint Peter's ranks in the Top-5 in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference statistics in 10 categories, including leading the league in scoring defense (68.3).
• The Peacocks also rank third in field goal defense (.419), third in 3-point field goal defense (.322), third in blocks (4.3), fourth in free throw percentage (.720), fourth in defensive rebound percentage (.691), fifth in rebounding offense (35.4), fifth in rebounding defense (35.2), fifth in rebounding margin (+0.2) and fifth in defensive rebounds (23.8).
• Junior Marvin Dominique ranks third in the circuit in rebounding (8.7), third in defensive rebounds (5.6), fourth in offensive rebounds (3.1), seventh in scoring (17.5), ninth in field goal percentage (.475), ninth in blocked shots (1.1) and ninth in minutes played (33.8).
• Freshman Trevis Wyche is third in assists (4.1) and fifth in assist to turnover ratio (1.8).
• Junior Desi Washington is fourth in free throw percentage (.859) while freshman Quadir Welton is sixth in offensive rebounds (2.9) and seventh in blocked shots (1.3). 

home sweet home... Junior Marvin Dominique is averaging 19.3 points and 7.6 rebounds per game in seven home games this season.
• The junior has reached double figures in all seven games, including three 20-point performances and two double-doubles. Dominique posted 18 points and six rebounds in his last home contest.
• Junior Desi Washington is averaging 12.9 points and 3.6 rebounds per game at home this season. The junior has posted at least nine points in all seven games, including six-straight double-figure point performances. Washington scored 11 points in his last game at the Yanitelli Center.
• Saint Peter's is 3-4 at home this season and 1-3 in MAAC play after falling 71-63 to Iona on Jan. 26.
• Friday's game concludes a two-game homestand for the Peacocks. The squad has six of its final 10 games at the Yanitelli Center.

• Wyche is averaging 10.7 points per game in his last 10 games and has posted 50 of his 107 points from the charity stripe in that stretch.
• The freshman recorded a career-best 16 points against Quinnipiac on Jan. 12. 

block party... Freshman Quadir Welton notched a career-high five blocks against Iona on Jan. 26.
• It marked the second time this season a Saint Peter's player posted five blocks in a game after junior Marvin Dominique recorded five rejections against Quinnipiac on Jan. 12.
• Dominique also has a four-block game on his resume this season along with senior Chris Burke. Welton also has a recorded three blocks in a game three times with Dominique recording one.
• Welton leads the team with 24 blocks while Dominique ranks second with 21 rejections and Burke is third with 15 blocks.

it matters where we play... Senior Chris Burke sure loves home cooking while freshman Quadir Welton might just be a road warrior.
• Burke has posted three of his four double-digit point performances this season at the Yanitelli Center. Highlighting these three games was when he tied his career high of 18 points against Quinnipiac on Jan. 12 and when he posted a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds against Hampton on Nov. 12. The senior notched double digits on the road for the first time this season with 12 points at Marist on Jan. 20.
• Welton has all three of double-figure point performances on the road. The freshman burst onto the scene with 16 points and 11 rebounds at the Barclays Center against LIU Brooklyn on Nov. 9 also had 10 points against Seton Hall at the Prudential Center on Dec. 14 to highlight his three road game top performances. 

washington clutch shooting... Junior Desi Washington has hit a game-winning 3-pointer in the waning seconds of a game twice this season.
• The junior hit a trey with 3.3 seconds left to lift Saint Peter's past Seton Hall 83-80 in overtime on Dec. 14. Washington finished the game with a career-high 34 points against the Pirates.
• He then hit a triple as time expired to give the Peacocks a 56-55 win against Fairfield on Jan. 8.
• The 3-pointer was the No. 8 play on SportsCenter on the early edition and then moved to the ninth spot in the late show.
• Washington has made a team-best 37 from behind the arc this season. 

counting on the newbies... The Peacocks have seven newcomers on the roster and they have accounted for 806 of the squad's 1233 points this season.
• The newcomers have accounted for 65 percent of the offense this season led by junior Marvin Dominique and his 17.5 points per game.
• Junior Desi Washington has 246 of the 423 points scored by the returning players while senior Chris Burke has 130 points this season.
• Washington and Burke are the only returners that have posted double figures in points this season while Dominique and fellow juniors Jamel Fields and Tyler Gaskins and freshmen Trevis Wyche and Quadir Welton each have at least one 10+ point contest this season.
• Burke and Washington have posted double figures in the same game three times this season and it has come in the team's last six games. 

dominate and unique equals marvin dominique... Junior Marvin Dominique has scored double figures in 17 of his 19 games in a Peacocks uniform.
• Dominique had his streak of 13 straight 10+ games stopped when he finished with six points and seven rebounds against Fairfield on Jan. 8.
• The junior has recorded one 30-point game, seven 20-point performances and eight double-doubles in his first 13 games of his initial season in Jersey City.
• Dominique  recorded a career-high 31 points along with 14 rebounds against LIU Brooklyn in the season opener on Nov. 9.
• The junior hauled in a career-best 16 rebounds against Niagara on Dec. 8.
• Dominique did not score more than 10 points in a game or post more than 11 rebounds in a contest in 40 tilts with the Rams.
• After not recording a double-double with Fordham, Dominique has seven double-doubles this season. 

take me home tonight... Junior Jamel Fields has posted his three-best point performances in a familiar setting.
• The junior notched his season-high at Fairfield against his former team. Fields played two years for the Stags.
• Fields posted 12 points against Binghamton at his new home the Yanitelli Center.
• He has scored nine points three times this season. The Albany, native recorded nine points in his first home game of the season against Hampton and tallied nine points at Siena in Albany on Jan. 23.

playing with the big boys... While the 83-80 overtime win against Seton Hall on Dec. 14 ended a 17-game losing streak against the Pirates, defeating teams from the bigger conferences is no stranger to the Peacocks.
• It was the third time under head coach John Dunne Saint Peter's has defeated a BCS school after downing Alabama 50-49 in 2010-11 and Rutgers 56-52 in 2012-13.
• The Peacocks have beaten a Big East school in each of the last two seasons.
• Saint Peter's also has wins against Boston College, Georgetown, UMass and Michigan State on their resume in team history, but the biggest win in program history might have been when the squad downed top-ranked Duke 100-71 in the 1967-68 NIT to reach the "Final Four" of that tournament. 

washington honored... Junior Desi Washington was named the MAAC Player of the Week for the week of Dec. 9-15.
• It was the junior's first MAAC weekly honor after being named to the All-MAAC Preseason second team prior to the start of the season.
• Washington was also named the Corvias ECAC Metro/Upstate Player of the Week, College Sports Madness National Mid-Major Player of the Week and College Sports Madness MAAC Player of the Week.
• The junior earned the honor after scoring a career-high 34 points, including the decisive 3-pointer with 3.3 seconds left in an 83-80 overtime win against Seton Hall to end a 17-game losing streak against the Pirates.
•  Washington was honored four times as a member of the Delaware State men's basketball team when he was awarded the MEAC Rookie of the Week in 2010-11 four times.
• Washington is the fourth player to earn the league honor under head coach John Dunne and the first since Ryan Bacon earned the recognition on Jan. 31, 2011. 

what's your number... Saint Peter's has reached 80 points twice this season after falling 87-80 to LIU Brooklyn on Nov. 9 and defeating Seton Hall 83-80 in overtime on Dec. 14.
• Three of the last four times the Peacocks have reached 80 points in a game were against LIU Brooklyn. The squad is 1-2 in those contests against the Blackbirds.
• Saint Peter's has reached 80 points in a game eight times in the eight seasons under head coach John Dunne and the squad is 5-3 in those games.
• The team has scored at least 70 points in a contest 36 times under Dunne and the Peacocks are 22-14 when it reaches that mark.
• Saint Peter's is also 1-0 when the team scores 90 points in a game.
• The Peacocks have scored at least 70 points four times this season and are 3-1 in those contests.
• Saint Peter's reached 70 points in three games last season.

double vision... Saint Peter's has had a player post double figures in rebounds 11 times this season.
• Junior Marvin Dominique has eight of the 10 double-digit rebound games.
• Freshman Quadir Welton has three 10+ rebound games, including a career-high 11 rebounds while senior Chris Burke grabbed 11 boards against Hampton on Nov. 12.

thirtysomething and staying in the twenties... Junior Desi Washington scored a career-high 34 points against Seton Hall on Dec. 14 to mark the second time this season and the fifth time under head coach John Dunne's eight-year tenture he had a player score 30 points in a game.
• Junior Marvin Dominique also reached 30 points this season when he poured in a career-high 31 points against LIU Brooklyn on Nov. 9.
• Wesley Jenkins is the only other player to post 30 points in a game when he reached the total twice.
• The Peacocks are 4-5 under Dunne when a player registers 20 points in a contest.
• Dominique has scored 20 points or more eight times this season and Washington has done it twice.
• Saint Peter's is 35-38 when a player has a 20-point performance under Dunne. 

capital gains... Junior Desi Washington has posted double figures in 33 of the 49 games, including 10 20-point performance, since he joined the team at the start of last season.
• Washington has reached double figures 12 times this year, including a career-high 34 points against Seton Hall on Dec. 14.
• The Peacocks are 8-2 when Washington reaches 20 points in a game.
• Washington played his freshman campaign at Delaware State in 2010-11 and scored 394 points with the Hornet.
• The junior has recorded 685 points in his two seasons in Jersey City and reached 1,000 points for his career in the game against Canisius on Jan. 4.
• He is also the closest to reaching 1,000 points in a Saint Peter's uniform, needing 315 points to reach that milestone.
• Washington was named the MAAC Player of the Week for the first time in his career after his career day against Seton Hall. 

thats what you call a career day... Junior Marvin Dominique notched a career-best 31 points against LIU Brooklyn on Nov. 9.The junior also hauled in a career-best 16 rebounds against Niagara on Dec.8.
• Freshman Quadir Welton registered a career-high 16 points and 11 rebounds against the Blackbirds.
• Junior Tyler Gaskins recorded a personal-best 13 points against Boston University on Nov. 30.
• Junior Desi Washington posted a career-best 34 points against Seton Hall on Dec. 14.
• Freshman Trevis Wyche recorded a career-best 16 points against Quinnipiac on Jan. 12.
• Sophomore Elias Desport notched a career-best eight points against Rider on Jan. 16.
• Junior Kris Rolle registered a career-best nine points and nine rebounds against Siena on Jan. 23. 

double your pleasure... Senior Chris Burke, juniors Marvin Dominique and Markese Tucker and freshman Quadir Welton are the only players on the roster that have recorded a double-double in their career.
• Dominique has eight double-doubles this season.
• Welton recorded 16 points against 11 rebounds against the Blackbirds on Nov. 9.
• Burke notched his first career double-double after posting 18 points and 10 rebounds against Iona last season. The senior notched his second career trick with 13 points and 11 rebounds against Hampton on Nov. 12.
• Tucker recorded the trick in his freshman campaign. 

adams leaves the program... Junior Vic Adams decided to leave the team at the end of the first semester.
• Adams averaged 5.6 points and 1.2 rebounds in five games this season.

preseason poll... Saint Peter's was picked to finish ninth according to the MAAC Preseason Coaches Poll. Manhattan, who advanced to the MAAC Championship Game last season, has been tabbed as the preseason favorite while the 2012-13 MAAC Tournament Champion Iona Gaels finished second in the poll. Canisius and Rider finished 3-4 while Marist, Fairfield, Quinnipiac, Niagara, Saint Peter's, Siena and Monmouth rounded out the 11-team poll. Quinnipac and Monmouth will compete in MAAC play for the first time after playing in the Northeast Conference last season. 

washington preseason honor... Junior Desi Washington was named to the All-MAAC Preseason third team. Washington, a 6-2 guard, was the Peacocks leading scorer last season after averaging 14.6 points per game and added 3.4 rebounds per game. Washington also led the team in minutes per game (34.4), 3-point field goal percentage (37.0) and free throw percentage (88.0). The transfer from Delaware State made the most of his first season in Jersey City after registering double figures in 20 of the 30 games played. Washington reached 20 points in a game seven times in 2012-13, including a career-high 32 points against Boston University on Dec. 1. Saint Peter's was 5-2 in games the junior recorded a 20-point performance last season.

the schedule... Saint Peter's will play 13 games at the Yanitelli Center and 16 on the road.
• Prior to the New Year, the Peacocks will play eight of its 11 games on the road.
• The squad will go 32 days in between home games. Saint Peter's will host Binghamton on Nov. 26 and then embark on a five-game road trip before returning home to host Cornell on Dec. 28. It will be the team's first five-game road trip since starting the 2005-06 season with five-straight road games.
• In addition, Saint Peter's will play games in five states this season (New Jersey, New York, Massachusetts, Connecticut and Ohio).
• During the non-conference slate, the Peacocks will face teams from the America East (Binghamton, Hartford), Big East (Seton Hall), Ivy League (Cornell), Mid-America Conference (Kent State), Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (Hampton), Northeast Conference (LIU Brooklyn, Fairleigh Dickinson) and Patriot League (Boston University). 

hi, how are you doing... Saint Peter's has eight newcomers eligible to play in 2013-14.
• Juniors Marvin Dominique and Jamel Fields each sat out last season due to NCAA Division I transfer regulation. Fields played his first two seasons at Fairfield while Dominique played two years at Fordham before coming to Jersey City. Fields has a 20-point game on his career resume while Dominique posted one 10-point performance and four double-figure rebound games with the Rams.
• Juniors Tyler Gaskins and Kris Rolle join the team after playing two seasons at community college while freshmen Howard Sellers, Trevis Wyche and Quadir Welton also join the team this season. 

about the coach... Head coach John Dunne is in his eighth season at Saint Peter's.
• He led the team to the 2011 MAAC Tournament title and berth in the NCAA Tournament.
• Dunne has coached five 1,000-point scorers, three All-MAAC second-team selections, four All-MAAC third-team honorees, two MAAC All-Rookie selections, a MAAC Tournament Most Valuable Player, three MAAC All-Tournament selections and an All-MAAC Academic honoree. 

a different looking staff for dunne... Head coach John Dunne has added Matt Henry and Serge Clement to his staff in 2013-14.
• Henry comes to Saint Peter's after serving as an assistant coach and the active head coach for the final four games of the 2011-12 season at Mount St. Mary's. The Mount was 2-2 in the four games he served as active head coach.
• Clement comes to Jersey City after serving as an assistant coach at Adelphi for the last two seasons.
