HOLMDEL, N.J. – Lance Weaver (Piscataway, N.J./Piscataway High School) and Selena Marshall (New Rochelle, N.Y./New Rochelle High School) pace the Saint Peter's cross-country team at the 2014 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships.
Weaver was the first member of the Peacocks to run past the finish line in the men's 8k run with a time of 29:58. 46. Johannes Guerrero (Jersey City, N.J./William Dickinson) and Mohamed Merdan finished in the top-150 of the event. Christian Garrido (Monmouth Junction, N.J./South Brunswick), John Paul Herrera (Bayonne, N.J./Bayonne High School) and Kevin Olaya (North Bergen, N.J. /North Bergen) rounded out the top finishes for Saint Peter's.
Iona won the MAAC championship with an average time of 25:30.49, followed by Canisius and Quinnipiac. Marist and Rider finished fourth and fifth respectively, followed by Fairfield, Monmouth and Siena. Manhattan, Niagara and Saint Peter's rounded out the teams.
Marshall recorded a time of 26.12.67 in the women's 6k. Georgie Nicholes (Center Moriches, N.Y./Center Moriches) and Jackie Anderson (Bay Shore, N.Y./Bay Shore), Deborah Myrtil (Half Hollow Hills, N.Y./Half Hollow Hills), Carolina Herrera (North Bergen, N.J./North Bergen) and Victoria Lundin (Islip, N.Y./St. John The Baptist) wrapped up the finishes for Saint Peter's.
On the women's side, Iona won its consecutive MAAC championship. Quinnipiac and Marist finished second and third respectively, followed by Monmouth, Rider, Canisius and Siena. Manhattan, Fairfield, Niagara and Saint Peter's rounded out the finishes in the event.
