Former Saint Peter's Men's Basketball Player Yvon Raymond Drafted In Second Round of National Basketball League Of Canada

JERSEY CITY, N.J. – Former Saint Peter's men's basketball player Yvon Raymond was drafted in the second round of the National Basketball League (NBL) of Canada.

Raymond, a native of Maplewood, N.J., was one of 160 players that participated in the Pre-Draft Combine at the Athlete Institute and was one of 40 players nominated to attend the draft with the possibility of being drafted.
 
Raymond was the seventh selection in the second round and the 15th pick overall by Brampton. Only 24 players were drafted.

The Brampton A's finished second in the NBL last season with a 29-16 record. The A's open the 2014-15 against the Mississauga Power on Nov. 1.
 
Raymond, who was a member of the 2011 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Championship team, finished his career at Saint Peter's with 760 points, 439 rebounds, 184 assists, 123 steals and 46 blocks in 118 games, including 51 starts from 2009-13. He posted his best season in Jersey City during his senior year when he averaged 10.4 points and 5.1 rebounds per game in 30 games.
