PENNINGTON, N.J. – Quinn Geraghty (Bogata, N.J./Bogota) and Georgie Nicholes (Center Moriches, N.Y./Center Moriches) paced the Saint Peter's cross country team at the Rider Invitational on Saturday. The race was ran at the course of the upcoming Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships at the end of the year.
For the second-straight week, the freshman Geraghty paced the Peacocks' men's cross country team with a top finish after placing 101st with a time of 27:27.70 in the 8K race. Nicholes fueled the women's squad in the 5K race by placing 105th with a time of 26:11.00.
Lance Weaver (Piscataway, N.J./Piscataway) (132nd place, 30:09.60), Johannes Guerrero (Jersey City, N.J./Dickinson) (133th place, 30:49.60), Kevin Olaya (North Bergen, N.J./North Bergen) (135th place, 33:38.80), Marlowe Tooles (Coatesville, Pa./Coatesville) (137th place, 34:09.70) also competed in the 8K for the Peacocks.
Monmouth won the men's 8K with 42 points while Marist (65), College of New Jersey (76), Siena (111), Quinnipiac (111), Rutgers (127), Fairfield (207), Manhattan (208), Fairleigh Dickinson (246) and Saint Peter's (318) rounded out the field.
On the women's side, Jodi Collymore (Middletown, N.Y./Pine Bush) (113th place, 26:35.70), Jovanna Larose (North Brunswick, N.J./North Brunswick) (135th place, 28:08.70), Selena Marshall (New Rochelle, N.Y./New Rochelle) (139th place, 29:10.80), Jackie Anderson (Bay Shore, N.Y./Bay Shore) (140th place, 29:44.20) and Deborah Myrtil (Half Hallow Hills, N.Y./Hall Hallow Hills) (141st place, 30:52.30) also participated in the 5K for Saint Peter's.
Quinnipiac won the women's race with a score of 49 while Monmouth (67), Marist (67), Rider (94), Manhattan (120), College of New Jersey (145), Siena (172), Fairfield (233), Fairleigh Dickinson (266) and Saint Peter's (316) rounded out the competition.
The Saint Peter's cross country team returns to action at the Technology XC Challenge hosted by NJIT at Branch Brook Park in Newark, N.J., on Oct. 3.
