JERSEY CITY, N.J. – ESPN has announced that the Saint Peter's men's basketball game against Niagara on Feb. 12 will be broadcasted on ESPN3, announced during the league's ESPN3 broadcast on Friday night. The Monmouth-Rider game for Feb. 12 has been selected to be telecasted on ESPNU.
Saint Peter's will be featured on a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) produced ESPN3 broadcast four times this season. Along with the game against the Purple Eagles on Feb. 12, the Peacocks will host the defending MAAC Tournament champion Manhattan Jaspers on Jan. 24 at 3 p.m. on ESPN3 and then welcome hOURglass Rival Rider to town on Jan. 28 for an 8 p.m. tip-off on ESPN3. The squad will also travel to Monmouth in another hOURglass Rivalry game on Jan. 30 at 7 p.m. on ESPN3.
The men's team will also travel to Siena on Feb. 5 for a contest on ESPNU with a 9 p.m. start time.
Saint Peter's fell to Niagara 69-67 on Jan. 7 in Western, New York while the Peacocks defeated Rider 73-61 on Dec. 2 in Lawrenceville and downed Siena 72-68 in Jersey City on Dec. 6. The tilts against Manhattan and Monmouth both mark the first matchup of the season against those two programs.
Saint Peter's (6-8, 4-1 MAAC) has opened the league slate 4-1 for the seventh time in program history and for the first time since the 1996-97 campaign. The Peacocks return to action when it hosts Marist at the Yanitelli Center on Sunday. Tip off is 2 p.m. The Jersey City team defeated the Red Foxes in Poughkeepsie 68-60 on Jan. 4.
