Box Score NIAGARA UNIV., NY – The Saint Peter's women's soccer team fell 3-1 to Niagara University on Wednesday afternoon in Western New York. With the loss, the Peacocks MAAC record drops to 0-5-1.
The Purple Eagles used two first half goals and a third goal just three minutes into the second half, to jump out to a 3-0 lead over the Peacocks. Niagara was led by Laura Ortiz's two goals on the evening.
The Peacocks got its lone goal at the 67th minute when Alexandria Couto found Barbara Paiva for her first tally of the season.
The Purple Eagles tripled the Peacocks in shots, posting a 21-to-7 advantage. Peacock goalkeeper Taylor McLean made five saves in the loss.
The Peacocks are back in action when they return home on Saturday, October 15 to host Siena at 12:00 p.m.
