JERSEY CITY, NJ –Saint Peter's men's tennis defeated Coppin State, 6-1, on Saturday afternoon, earning the teams first win of the season.
The Peacocks took two out the three in doubles to earn the tandem point. Andres-Sebastian Rojas and Douglas Nover defeated Andre Sturniolo and Oula, 6-1 at No. 1 doubles. Jorge Rodriguez and Ivan Knezevic defeated Gabriel Franca and Christian Duchnak, 6-1 in No. 2 doubles. Coppin State's Andres Diaz and Gavin Lewis defeated Gabe Russotto and Cuong Lam, 6-0, at No. 3 doubles.
Rodriuez defeated Sturniolo 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1 singles. Rojas defeated Franca at No. 2 singles 6-1, 6-3. Duchnak earned the lone win for Coppin State by defeating Knezevic 7-5, 6-1 at No. 3 singles. Nover defeated Diaz at No. 4 singles 7-6, 6-7 (8-6), 10-8. Jon Parades defeated Lewis, 2-6, 6-4, 10-6 at No. 5 singles. Russotto defeated Seth Moses in No. 6 singles, 6-0, 6-0.
Saint Peter's concluded its fall schedule and will return to action in the Spring.
