LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ - Saint Peter's women's volleyball fell to hOURglass rival, Rider Broncs this afternoon at the Alumni Gymnasium in Lawrenceville, NJ.
Meredith Przybocki posted a team high of six kills while Kaitlyn Sitton average a .400 kill percentage posting four kills. Captain, Amanda Colombo added ten digs, and Kenyale McGinnis followed with nine digs.
The Peacocks were unable to come out on top as they loss 3-0 (18-25, 13-25, 17-25).
The Peacocks best set came in the opening set as they fell behind one point at the midpoint mark at 11-12 in the first set. The Broncs pulled away as they reached a 4-point lead at 18-14. Saint Peter's was unable to catch up as Rider upped the score 22-15, before taking the set winning 25-18.
In the second set, the Broncs led 7-12 at the midpoint mark. Saint Peter's failed to catch up as they scored only six more points before Rider finished the set 25-13.
In the third set a different tone was set as the Peacocks rallied the Broncs to several early ties at (3,4,8,9). Rider managed to pull away as they jumped ahead five points. Saint Peter's failed to counter as Rider kept the strong lead through the rest of the game, finishing 25-17.
"I'm really satisfied, we implemented everything we worked on this week at practice into the match," said head coach Monica Dempsey. "Losing is tough but I'm proud of the resilience we've shown."
Saint Peter's will continue season play as they return to the court to face Iona in New Rochelle on Nov. 9.
