NEW YORK, N.Y. – Bence Greifenstein (Budapest, Hungary/Kerek) won two individual events and was a member of two winning relays to pace the Saint Peter's swimming and diving team at the NYU Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
Greifenstein won both breaststroke events after taking the 200 breast with a time of 2:02.62 and the 100 breast with a time of 55.87. He also swam the second leg of the winning 200-free relay (1:24.97) and the 200-medley relay (1:33.19).
Igal Oren (Jersey City, N.J./Ort Kiryar Bialik) opened the 200-free relay and Sean Dunne (Holmdel, N.J./Christian Brothers Academy) and Eliran Epstein (Nahariya, Israel/Wester Gailee Regional) swam the final two legs of the winning relay while Dunne opened the 200-medley relay and Epstein and Oren finished up the first-place relay. Oren, Thomas Calloni (Jersey City, N.J./Saint Peter's Prep), Dunne and Epstein also won the 400-free relay (3:05.79).
Oren won the 100 free (46.09) and Calloni won the 200 free (1:43.31) while Nicholas Riepe (Middlesex, N.J./Saint Joseph) finished first in the 200 fly (1:54.79), third in the 200 free (1:45.73) and fourth in the 500 free (4:43.50).
Epstein placed second in the 100 free (46.99) and second in the 50 free (21.91) while Dunne was fourth in both the 100 free (47.36) and in the 100 breast (59.39).
On the women's side, Christina Petrelis (Belle Mead, N.J./Montgomery) won the 400 IM (4:39.62) and placed third in the 500 free (5:14.18) while Karen Castaneda (Woodbridge, N.J./Woodbridge) finished third in the event (5:15.34).
