about the knights… Fairleigh Dickinson played three matches this week in Florida. Before they left for the Sunshine State, the Knights were 1-4.
last time out… Sacred Heart defeated Saint Peter's 5-2 on Wednesday. For the third-straight match, Daniil Ivanov had a hand in two match wins the Peacocks. The senior teamed up with Jorge Rodriguez to defeat Brian Power and Matt Dean at No. 1 doubles, 6-3. Ivanov also defeated Power at No. 1 singles 6-3, 6-4. Andres-Sebastian Rojas and Gabriel Russotto helped secure the doubles point with a 6-4 win at No. 3 doubles against Karan Narula and Cory Seltman. Saint Peter's won the doubles point thanks to taking two of three, but the Pioneers won the final five singles matches to earn the victory. Dean defeated Rodriguez at No. 2 singles 7-6 (0), 7-5 while Derek Chapman downed Jonathan Paredes 6-2, 6-1 at No. 3 singles. Rojas fell to Narula at No. 4 singles 6-4, 6-2 while Russotto dropped a 7-6, 6-0 decision to Mathieu Pilote 7-6, 6-0 at No. 5 singles and Douglas Nover lost at No. 6 singles to Cory Seltman 6-1, 6-4. Paredes and Cuong Lam lost at No. 2 doubles to Chapman and Pilote, 6-2.
next serve ace… Saint Peter's returns to action against Marist on Tuesday.
getting the wins… Daniil Ivanov leads the team with 10 singles wins while Jorge Rodriguez ranks second with six singles wins. Douglas Nover (four), Gabriel Russotto (three), Jonathan Paredes (one), Andres-Sebastian Rojas (one) and Cuong Lam (one) also have victories for the Peacocks. Ivanov and Rodriguez have teamed up for seven doubles wins while Russotto and Nover have two doubles wins and Paredes-Rojas and Rojas-Nover each have won tandem victory.
welcome back… The men's tennis team is welcoming back four players from the 2014-2015 season. Daniil Ivanov, Jonathan Paredes, Jorge Rodriguez and Andre-Sebastian Rojas will all be providing the team with the experience. Ivanov is entering his senior year, Paredes will be a sophomore, Rodriguez is entering his junior year and Rojas will become a junior as well.
welcome to the flock… Head Coach Mike Scolamieri will be welcoming three freshman to help the Peacocks in the 2015-2016 campaign: Douglas Nover, Gabriel Russotto and Justin Sinprasith.
about the coach… Head Coach Mike Scolamieri is entering his eighth season at the helm of the men's tennis program. In the 2009-2010 season, the squad posted a 13-11 record.
