Box Score 2 SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – Saint Peter's lost a pair of games at the ShareSLO Mustang Classic in non-conference softball action on Friday. The Peacocks lost 3-0 to Weber State in the opener and then dropped a 5-0 decision to Toledo in the nightcap.
Lee Harrison (Las Vegas, Nev./Coronado) posted two hits against Toledo for the Peacocks (0-10) and Schieler Collins Frisco, Texas/Wakeland) added two hits against Weber State on the afternoon.
In the opener against Weber State, the Wildcats scored a run in the first, sixth and seventh to earn a 3-0 decision.
JaeCie Wilson paced the Wildcats (10-7) with a 3-for-4 performance with a run scored and an RBI while Carley White also went 3-for-4 with an RBI and Aubrey Whitmer registered two hits, a run scored and an RBI in the winning effort.
White got the scoring started in the first inning with an RBI single through the right side to give Weber State a 1-0 edge. Whitmer homered in the sixth and Wilson added an RBI single in the seventh to cap the 3-0 win.
Saint Peter's best chance to score came in the sixth. Harley Connors (Mason, Ohio/William Mason) singled and Nicole Feoli (Burlington Township, N.J./Burlington) walked. With two outs, Jackie Riley (South Amboy, N.J./Cardinal McCarrick) singled to right field and Connors was thrown out at the plate trying to score on the play.
Riley allowed three runs on 10 hits with three strikeouts and took the loss.
In the nightcap, Toledo scored a run in the third and the fifth before posting three runs in the sixth to earn a 5-0 win.
Chandler Rice powered the Rockets (3-10) with two hits, two RBIs and a run scored while Kaitlyn Bergman added two hits, two runs scored and an RBI and Ashley Rausch recorded a hit, a run scored and an RBI in the win.
Jessica Lemieux got the scoring started in the third with an RBI single to right field for a 1-0 lead. Rausch knocked in the second run of the day in the fifth on an RBI groundout before Rice smacked a two-run homer and Bergman followed one batter later with a solo shot to complete the 5-0 victory.
The Peacocks best chance to score in the game came in the second. With one out, Harrison singled through the left side, stole second and moved to third on a wild pitch only to see Toledo get out of the jam with a groundout and a popout to end the threat.
Tiffani Lambert (Lincroft, N.J./Middletown South) took the loss for the Jersey City team.
Saint Peter's was scheduled to play Weber State and Toledo on Saturday and host Cal Poly on Sunday. Due to the impending weather the game against Toledo and Cal Poly have been cancelled. The Peacocks will now conclude its West Coast swing with a game against Weber State on Saturday. Game time is 12 p.m.
