JERSEY CITY, N.J. – The Saint Peter's men's tennis team defeated St. Francis Brooklyn 7-0 in non-conference men's tennis action on Sunday.
The Peacocks won all three doubles matches to earn the doubles point. Daniil Ivanov (Rostov-On-Don, Russia/UMKC) and Jorge Rodriguez (Havana, Cuba/Elizabeth) teamed up to win at No. 1 doubles against Zura Tskhakaia and Milos Vukicevic 6-2 and Gabriel Russotto (Bayonne, N.J./Saint Peter's Prep) and Douglas Nover (Bayside, N.Y./St. Francis Prep) defeated Martin Bedecarrats and Sacha Singh 6-1 at No. 2 doubles while Saint Peter's completed the sweep by taking No. 3 doubles by default.
In singles action, Ivanov defeated Bedcarrats 6-4, 6-4 at No. 1 singles and Rodriguez downed Tskhakaia 6-1, 6-3 at No. 2 singles. Jonathan Paredes (North Bergen, N.J./North Bergen) knocked off Singh 6-3, 6-4 at No. 3 singles and Russotto defeated Vukicevic 6-4, 6-3 at No. 4 singles. Nover took a 6-1, 6-1 decision against Michael Sparano at No. 5 singles and Justin Sinprasith (Jersey City, N.J./County Prep) won by default at No. 6 singles.
Saint Peter's returns to action at home against Drexel on Saturday. Match time is 12 p.m.
