EDISON, NJ – Saint Peter's men's golf freshman, Jeffrey Peters (Poughkeepsie, NY/FD Roosevelt), has been named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Golfer of the Month for his play during the month of September.
Peter's was the individual team leader for the Peacocks in three out of four events, while finishing in second place in the fourth event during the month of September. He won the individual title in the George Hill Shootout, shooting a 66, -4 and leading the Saint Peter's to a second-place finish. Peters was the only golfer in the field to finish under par at the one round event. He shot birdies on six holes, making three on both the front and back nine. At both the Monmouth Quad and the Tiger Intercollegiate events, Peters led the Peacocks with the lowest team scores, while the Peacocks finished in fifth place and fourth place in both tournaments respectively. At the Monmouth Quad, he finished tied for 10th, shooting a team best 74, +3 and at the Tiger Intercollegiate, he finished tied for 12th, with a team-low of 76-77-72=225, +9 in the three-round event. At the Ryan T. Lee Memorial, Peters helped lead the Peacocks to another fourth-place team finish, while shooting the second-best individual Peacock score of a 72-77=149, +5.
