The Saint Peter's men's tennis team will look to capture their first MAAC victory of the year when they travel to Fairfield and host Rider for their final conference matches of the season on Sunday, April 22 and Tuesday, April 24.
Last Time Out - The Peacocks dropped a heartbreaker to conference foe Niagara on April 15, falling 4-3. Ignacio Tintore, Ivan Knezevic, and Igor Khvorostian all posted singles wins at No. 4, 5, and 6, respectively to put points on the board for the team.
Scouting the Stags - Fairfield University men's tennis owns two wins in conference against Niagara and Rider; they also garnered wins over mutual opponents Sacred Heart and St. Francis Brooklyn. Last season, the Peacocks were swept by the Stags on March 25, 2017 in Jersey City. The Stag own two MAAC Players of the Week with Tyler Shibles (2/7/2018) and lewis Edwards (3/7/2018). Fairfield University men's tennis was picked 4th in the MAAC Men's Tennis Preseason Coaches' Poll.
Scouting the Broncs - Rider University is still seeking its first win of the year. Diego Delgado currently owns the lone point that the Broncs got in MAAC play; he won at No. 3 singles against Siena. Last season, on April 21, 2017, the Broncs defeated the Peacocks, 5-2, in Lawrenceville, NJ with Douglas Nover putting a point on the board with his win at No. 3. Rider men's tennis was picked last in the MAAC Men's Tennis Preseason Coaches' Poll.
Up Next - The Saint Peter's University men's tennis team will host Baruch on Friday, April 27 to close out the season. The match is set to begin at 6:00 p.m. at Lincoln Park in Jersey City, NJ.
