Women’s Soccer Drops 2-0 Decision to Marist

JERSEY CITY, NJ - The Saint Peter's University women's soccer team fell to Marist, 2-0, on Wednesday at Jaroschak Field. Despite a persistent attack, the Peacocks were kept off the board while the Red Foxes used a pair of set-piece goals in the second half to take the conference clash.
 
Game Notes

• Both squads had chances -- with the majority going to Saint Peter's -- in a back-and-forth opening half that ultimately saw neither side find the back of the net.
• In the 58th minute of the contest, Marist was able to break through with a goal from Victoria Colatosti.
• The Red Foxes would go on to seal the game in the 73rd minute with a header from Nicole Sasso coming off a corner kick from teammate Alexa Svensson.

Inside the Numbers

• At the end of the first half, the two sides were nearly identical in their offensive efforts, with both teams racking up five shots on goal and 11 shots overall.
• The Peacocks' 15 shots and six shots on goal both represented some of the highest single-game totals for the squad this year despite not being able to convert.
• Isabel Fernandez, Madison Greenberg and Julianna Murrill each put shots on target for the Peacocks on Wednesday, with Fernandez and Murrill tallying two apiece.
• Junior goalkeeper Victoria Scarratt recorded seven saves on the day compared to six for Marist's keeper.
