JERSEY CITY, N.J. – Saint Peter's University today announced the hiring of Rachelle Paul as the 10th Director of Athletics in school history. Paul, who boasts more than 15 years of experience in collegiate athletics, arrives after most recently serving as Senior Associate Athletics Director at Seton Hall University.

"I am thrilled to welcome Rachelle to the Peacock family," said Eugene J. Cornacchia, Ph.D., president of Saint Peter's University. "Our search centered on finding an individual who believes in the values and mission of Saint Peter's University and possesses the skills necessary to grow our Division I athletics program. I am confident that Rachelle is the leader to take Saint Peter's athletics to the next level.

"I would also like to thank our search committee members for their efforts; I truly appreciate your commitment and contributions throughout the search. I am also grateful to Katie Arcuri for her leadership as interim director of athletics over the past two months."

"I am humbled and honored to join Saint Peter's University as the next Director of Athletics," said Paul. "I would like to thank President Cornacchia and the entire search committee, especially Katie Arcuri and Dave Bryngil, for providing me this tremendous opportunity. It's an exciting time to be a Saint Peter's Peacock and I am eager to get started. I look forward to working together with our coaches, staff and entire campus community to support our student-athletes in their academic and athletic pursuits."

Paul brings more than 15 years of athletic administration experience to Saint Peter's, most recently as senior associate athletics director, senior woman administrator and deputy Title IX coordinator at Seton Hall University. She has been responsible for the leadership and management of all areas of student-athlete development, including the organization and application of a comprehensive NCAA and BIG EAST rules compliance program and the implementation of relevant and effective programming that promotes and enhances the personal growth and development of student-athletes.

As a member of the senior leadership team at Seton Hall, Paul has participated in all decisions that impact the various operational areas of the athletics department. She and her team have been instrumental in the recent transformation of Seton Hall athletics, including multi-million dollar facility renovations, nationally ranked men's and women's basketball programs and unprecedented academic success of student-athletes.

Prior to her work at Seton Hall, Paul held positions at Monmouth University, Canisius College, the Northeast Conference (NEC) and the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC). She has served on a number of NCAA, BIG EAST and MAAC professional organizations throughout her career, most recently as chair of the BIG EAST SWA Committee.

Paul earned a bachelor's degree in communication studies and a master's degree in sport administration from Canisius College, where she also was a four-year letterwinner in women's lacrosse and a two-year member of the women's soccer team.

A native of Buffalo, New York, Rachelle and her husband, Tim, currently reside in Red Bank, New Jersey.

The University will formally introduce Paul at a press conference on Tuesday, Nov. 5, at 1:30 p.m. in The Duncan Family Sky Room in the Mac Mahon Student Center. She will officially begin her tenure in Jersey City on Nov. 11.
