Dominic Laws and Jordan Jowers named to Division I Men’s Soccer All-ECAC Team

DANBURY, CT - The junior duo of Dominic Laws and Jordan Jowers will add to their already impressive collection of postseason awards, as the two members of the Saint Peter's University men's soccer program have been named to the 2019 Division I Men's Soccer All-ECAC Team, as announced by the ECAC today. The offensive pair build on their junior-year campaigns after being named to the United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I Men's All-East Region Second Team earlier this week.

Jowers is now a two-time recipient of the award, having been named to the All-ECAC squad following the 2018 season. Laws and Jowers make up two of three MAAC student-athletes to be named to the 2019 team, as the two Peacocks are joined by Iona's Malcolm Morena. Saint Peter's, Lehigh, and the University of New Hampshire are the only schools to place at least two members on the All-ECAC team.

Laws, the MAAC Offensive Player of the Year, led the MAAC in a plethora of categories this year, recording a league-best 31 points. Laws also boasted top marks in the league in shots (76), shots per game (4.00), points (31), points per game (1.63), goals (12) and goals per game (.63). Additionally, Laws ranked fourth in the league in assists with seven helpers on the season. One of those 12 tallies was scored during the 2019 MAAC Men's Soccer Championship Final. Laws earned those accolades despite not having been selected to the Preseason All-MAAC team.

Jowers also had a fantastic year on the pitch, earning a unanimous selection to the All-MAAC First Team while helping to lead the Peacocks to a historic season. At the start of the season, Jowers was the only Peacock voted to the All-MAAC Preseason Team. The junior racked up 24 points on the year with nine goals and six assists; the Middlesbrough, England native also was one of the Peacocks' most clutch performers, as indicated by his team-leading four game-winning markers. During the MAAC tournament, Jowers found the back of the net in both of the Peacocks' postseason matches, including the game-winner in the 87th minute against Marist that sent Saint Peter's to its first MAAC Championship Final since 2010.

The ECAC (Eastern College Athletic Conference) is an eighty-year old organization with well over 200 members schools across all three NCAA Divisions - I, II and III - that exists to enhance the experience of student-athletes participating in intercollegiate athletics, and provide great value for universities and colleges, by sponsoring championships, leagues, bowl games, tournaments and other competitions throughout the Northeast.  Most of the ECAC's members also belong to another conference, which is often the school's primary conference.
